Organisation and Governance

The Internet Service Providers Association of Ireland is a non-for-profit company funded by the Online Industry (access, hosting, search and content providers) through membership fees. It is also in receipt of Grant Aid support from the European Union through the Connecting Europe Facility Programme for the operation of the Internet hotline service.

As a trade association membership is voluntary, however all ISPAI members agree to abide by the ISPAI Code of Practice and Ethics and support the service.

ISPAI is a registered member of Lobbying and complies with the Regulation of Lobbying Act 2015 signed into law on March 2015 and enacted September 1st 2015.

ISPAI is governed by a Board of Directors selected from and representing the broader membership base. The Board sets ISPAI’s strategic objectives and sign-off policy decisions reached in consultation with the wider membership. The Board and ISPAI’s working groups are supported by a Secretariat tasked with the day-to-day running of the organisation. ISPAI’s governance arrangements are strengthen by a regular cycle of board meetings and executive meetings.
