Tuesday, 11th of February 2014 will mark the 11th Edition of the Safer Internet Day. The 2014 Edition is being organised with the support of the European Commission, by the European Internet Safety Network (INSAFE) in partnership with the International Association of Internet Hotlines (INHOPE).
The Internet Service Providers’ Association of Ireland supports the aim of the Safer Internet Day to raise awareness and promote safer and more responsible use of online technology and devices, especially among children and young people, even more so, ISPAI and its members encourage the dissemination of Safer Internet Practices 365 days a year.
Just like in the previous years, the Safer Internet Day will consist of local, national and international events organised by a broad variety of institutions ranging from Schools and Youth Clubs / Initiatives to Industry, Civil Society, Local and National Government Agencies.
The online safety landscape has evolved over recent years from a focus on creating a ‘safer’ Internet to creating a ‘better’ Internet. 2014’s Safer Internet Day theme focuses on the responsibility that each one of us must assume in making the Internet a better place.
